Act III

Terms

Last updated 25 September 2026

This is a draft and has not been reviewed by a lawyer.

These terms cover your use of Act III. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.

Act III is provided by [NEEDS INPUT: legal entity name], of [NEEDS INPUT: registered address].

This is not legal advice

This is the most important thing on the page. Act III gives general information about planning ahead, and per-state guides that point you at official forms and offices. It is not legal advice, not financial advice, and not medical advice, and using it does not make anyone your lawyer.

The guides describe what the law and the official processes appear to require in each state. They are a starting point for a conversation with a professional, not a substitute for one. For anything that matters — and most of what is on this site matters — check with a qualified person in your own state before you act.

How the guides are written, and what that means for you

The guides were researched and drafted with the help of an AI model, from official state and federal sources, and every resource in them links to the source it came from. They have not each been read end to end by a lawyer. Some are marked in our own records as less certain than others.

We check that the links work and that the facts came from a real source. We cannot promise that a form has not changed, that an office has not moved, or that a rule has not been amended since. If something looks wrong, please tell us.

The question box on a guide page

The answers it gives are produced by an AI model and can be wrong. Treat them the way you would treat a helpful stranger’s summary: useful for getting oriented, not something to rely on. Do not put anything confidential into it.

Your account

Keep your email account secure, since anyone who can read your email can request a sign-in link. Tell us if you think someone else has got into your account.

You can ask us to delete your account at any time — see the Privacy page.

What we ask of you

Use the site for its purpose. Do not try to break it, overload it, scrape it, or use it to send anyone anything they did not ask for. Do not upload or send anything unlawful.

Free, and no promises about availability

Act III is free to use. We do not promise it will always be available, or that it will be free forever, though we will not start charging for something you have already been given.

[NEEDS INPUT: whether the free plan review offered on the Result page is a commitment, and any terms attached to it.]

Who owns what

The site, its design and its written guides belong to [NEEDS INPUT: legal entity name]. You may print anything here for your own use, or for helping a member of your family. You may not republish it as your own.

What you write — your answers, and anything you send us — stays yours. You give us permission to store it and use it to give you your result and to answer you, and nothing else.

Liability

[NEEDS INPUT: limitation of liability clause. This needs a lawyer and the wording depends on the governing law below — it is deliberately not drafted here, because a wrong limitation clause is worse than none.]

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of [NEEDS INPUT: governing state or country], and any dispute goes to the courts of [NEEDS INPUT: jurisdiction for disputes].

Changes, and getting in touch

If these terms change we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions go to [NEEDS INPUT: contact email address], or through the Talk to us page.
